Wuthering Heights: Episode 1

Heathcliff is tortured by the memories of Cathy's death and he hatches a plan to get revenge on her killer, Edgar Linton. Heathcliff traps Catherine, (Cathy's daughter with Edgar) at Wuthering Heights where he plans to force her to marry his son, Linton. The story then flashes back to Heathcliff arriving as a child at Wuthering heights and how Cathy befriended him. Heathcliff and Cathy plan to run away together until Cathy spends a month with Edgar Linton. When Edgar proposes, Cathy must chose between her love for Heathcliff and the life of wealth and comfort Edgar could provide. Heathcliff believes Cathy has betrayed him and leaves town. Cathy waits for Heathcliff to return for three years and then marries Edgar. Heathcliff returns the day they are married.
