Wonder Woman Rejected By NBC
Charlie Toft May 13, 2011

No pilot during this year’s development season attracted more attention than producer David E. Kelley’s new take on the Wonder Woman story. News tidbits such as the casting of Adrianne Palicki in the title role and (especially) photos of the updated Amazon costume were lapped up so eagerly that it was sometimes easy to forget that Wonder Woman was still just a pilot, with no guarantee it would ever make the leap to series.
NBC will be officially revealing its fall slate on Monday, but word has already leaked out that Wonder Woman didn’t make it after all. Reaction to the pilot was reportedly mixed at best, and it was clear that the fanboys who are necessary to make any project like this work were not behind the new version (Kelley’s track record, which has featured plenty of neurotic professional women and not much comic book ass-kicking, had a lot to do with the skepticism). Now aren’t you embarrassed at all the energy you wasted complaining about the new costume?
