Synopsis:
Veronica gets out of police holding and links up with murder suspect Josh in a surprising way: he ambushes her at gunpoint and then shows her that he's kidnapped Mason, whom he believes killed his father. But Veronica figures out that Mason couldn't have done it and so the search for the real killer continues, even as Josh evades the police. Meanwhile, Professor Landry confronts Keith about a listening device he found in his PDA, which Keith denies ever having placed there; the fingerprints of Mindy O'Dell's ex-husband are found on Dean O'Dell's keyboard; Veronica discovers that the gunshot the witness heard on the night of the Dean's murder happened an hour earlier than he had thought, blowing holes in the investigation time line; Logan fills in for the imprisoned Veronica on a Valentine's Day scavenger hunt alongside Parker, Mac and her boyfriend, and he and Parker hit it off; Sheriff Lamb gets ambushed by Mindy O'Dell's ex-husband during a burglary call and dies; Keith returns to his role as the sheriff, where his first order of business is to bring in Mindy O'Dell to question her about a bloody monogrammed shirt discovered in Hearst College's boiler room with Professor Landry's initials.
