A relationship counselor is writing a book on how a stressful job can put pressure on a relationship. She perceives Calvin is under a lot of stress and invites him over to her house for dinner and a chance to delve into it more privately. But Calvin misreads her signals. Ella is heading out to a revival and leaves the kids in Curtis' care, but Curtis is not about to let anything interfere with his big poker party at the firehouse.
