TV-Themed Holiday Gift Guide 2009
Maisy Fernandez December 9, 2009

For the TV addict, there is no better present than the next episode of our favorite show. But a close second would be opening a holiday gift box containing swag that offers hours of pleasure outside the television set.
Luckily, there are a whole lot of choices for every kind of television fan. Here are some great finds:
Fang-tastic Beverage
On True Blood, Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) keeps Fanta on hand for his human guests. But he might consider ordering the human version of Tru Blood from the HBO website as well. Served in the same bottles featured on the show, this drink is actually blood orange, carbonated soda.
$16 for a four-pack.
Latin Dancing With The Stars dress
Designed by DWTS costume designer Randall Christensen, this Latin dress with a car wash skirt bottom will help you sizzle during your next salsa. Sadly, though, you may need to pick up a bedazzler, for no rhinestones and jewels are included.
$116.
Ghost Hunters starter kit
If you’ve got an aspiring Ghostbuster on your holiday list, help them track entities with this starter kit, inspired by Syfy’s Ghost Hunters show. It includes an EMF sensor, a portable motion sensor, EVP listener, digital remote thermometor and a carrying case.
As for the ghosts? Well, you’re on your own there.
$99.75
Top Chef knife
We can’t guarantee the recipient of this 7-inch Santoku knife will become a better cook, but perhaps its etched Top Chef logo will impress friends and family enough to overlook his or her culinary transgressions. That illusion can be your biggest holiday gift to them.
$24.95.
“The Bro Code” book
How I Met Your Mother’s
Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) is a juggernaut of wisdom on the topic of Bros. “The Bro Code” collects all these nuggets in one place, answering dilemmas such as “What happens if I accidentally brush against another bro’s junk?” and “Can I sleep with a bro’s ex-girlfriend?”
$12.98 (paperback).
30 Rock Mousepad
This probably isn’t the best gift for Grandma Trudie, but any 30 Rock fan would surely appreciate this classic quip from Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan). Because after all, who couldn’t use some cornbread babies, especially with all the impending holiday meals on the horizon?
$12.95.
License to prowl
Jay-Z insisted 30 is the new 20, but Cougar Town has taken a little more liberty with that idea. Your favorite MILF will appreciate the thought behind this “40 is the new 20″ license plate holder — and potential cougar prey may appreciate the advance notice.
$32.95.
Polygamy passion
Your favorite Big Love devotee can proclaim their love for Bill and his wives by vicariously joining the ranks with a Mrs. Henrickson t-shirt. (While hubby-sharing isn’t ideal, let’s face it: there is something to be said for only having to cook dinner one or two nights a week.)
$24.99
Weeds toss pillow
Nancy Botwin and her crew don’t live in Agrestic anymore and Weeds has ditched its “Little Houses” theme song, but these
pillows
by the Savannah College of Art and Design offer a nod to the show without gifting someone an item bearing a giant marijuana leaf.
$39.99
Viking Quest beer stein
Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) may get most of the comedic credit on Entourage, but Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) often steals the show. Anyone in the Drama fan club will appreciate this homage to the C-list actor’s career-launching TV show. Like Tarvald, you can claim “victory!” with this beer stein.
$19.99.
Dexter coasters
No need for a window air conditioner unit — you can leave this container right out on the coffee table. The wooden box contains acrylic coasters modeled after Dexter’s blood slides, all without the gruesome murders.
$34.99.
Life-size robot
For those of you with about nine grand to spare, consider a life-size Cylon robot for the Battlestar Galactica lover in your life. This 7-foot fiberglass specimen is hand-crafted by “robot man” Fred Barton, and is numbered and signed by him.
$8590.
