HBO recently released another ten photos for the second season of everyone's favorite bloodsucking series in Bon Temps, True Blood, along with yet another third promo trailer that features Bob Dylan's "Beyond Here Lies Nothing." This time, however, the trailer contains some delicious snippets from upcoming episodes (scroll down for video).

First up, let's look at some of the ten new photos just released. Four of these are of Jason (Ryan Kwanten,) a character barely even in the second installment of Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mysteries ( Living Dead in Dallas,) on which the second season is based.

One of the things about season one that endeared Jason to the ladies was the difficulty he had in keeping a shirt on. Now that he's found religion (the Fellowship of the Sun,) I'm sure some were worried that we'd see a lot less of his shaven pecs, and with this first photo, we can put those concerns to rest. Apparently the FOTS has a softball team that has no problem with Jason breaking any uniform rules.

Next thing I noticed is Tara (Rutina Wesley) is still finding residence with the mysterious Maryann (Michelle Forbes,) much to the chagrin of Sam, I'm sure. Another photo finds her flirting with the character known as "Eggs" (Mehcad Brooks, see photo) who may or may not be a real person. He seems real enough to Tara, as she looks at him like he doesn't need a side of toast, if you know what I mean.

Speaking of Sam (Sam Tramell,) the Merlotte's proprietor appears to be skinny dipping, but I have a sneaking suspicion someone threw a tennis ball in the lake and yelled "Fetch!"

Finally, there's another photo of Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer), and this time you can make out that she's sporting a Fantasia T-shirt. Could either be a souvenir from her adventures last season, or more likely a hint of some business she's going to be helping out with in the coming episodes. Either way, I expect that piece of fashion to sell like hotcakes this summer ... like hotcakes!

And here, finally, is the third, and most recent trailer featuring Bob Dylan's "Beyond Here Lies Nothing," this time w/ actual footage from upcoming episodes. No more vampire-themed perfume ads!

As an aside, is anyone following the goings-on with the viral Bloodcopy blog?
