A segment spinoff of "The Tracey Ullman Show," this animated series depicts the ups and downs of the Simpsons, a strangely typical American family: Homer, the bumbling and rotund patriarch who works at the local nuclear power plant; Marge is a loving wife and mother with a large blue hairdo; Bart is the oldest child with a smart mouth and flair for trouble; Lisa, the intelligent middle child, is an accomplished jazz saxophonist; and Maggie is the toddler who communicates by making different sounds on her pacifier.
