This animated series depicts the ups and downs of the Simpsons, a strangely typical American family who live in the community of Springfield. The family includes Homer, a father whose head is often ruled by his stomach and who works at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant; Marge is a loving and nurturing mother and wife who tries to keep peace in the family; Bart is the smart-mouthed, hell-raising son; Lisa is the intelligent and sensitive middle child; and Maggie, the baby, communicates by making sounds on her pacifier.
