The Patriots

The story, set in the 1790s, relates the clash between Thomas Jefferson -- a proponent of radical democracy, at least in his statements and writings if not in his actions -- and fellow revolutionary Alexander Hamilton -- a champion of a strong central government resembling the British monarchy -- and its effect on the affairs of the newborn United States.
