Synopsis:
When Lynley and Helen arrive for a few days at home for their engagement party, tensions mount between Lynley, his heroin addicted brother, and the mother he has never forgiven for an affair during his childhood. Havers arrives to stay as well, and both she and Lynley start to assist in a murder investigation that has ties to Lynley's family. As Lynley's brother becomes the prime suspect, Lynley discover a pharmaceutical company's illegal drug sales are linked to his mother's boyfriend.
