Synopsis:
While on a field trip with his special education students in Palmdale, California, Whitney High School teacher Ralph Hinkley, and Bill Maxwell, an FBI agent stranded in the same area, are chosen by extraterrestrial forces to save the planet Earth from destroying itself. The mild-mannered Hinkley is presented with a special costume that endows him with super-human powers. Maxwell is selected to aid him with information about endangering situations.Complications set in when Ralph loses the special alien instruction manual and has to play it by ear on being "The Greatest American Hero." The series depicts Ralph's bumbling attempts to crush the forces of evil like no man has ever done before.
