Synopsis:
The story of Cuban refugee Elian Gonzalez, a 6-year-old boy found in November 1999 off the coast of Florida after the boat he was in capsized, killing his mother, stepfather and others. The boy's relatives in Miami have since waged a custody battle with his father in Cuba. Based on information from researcher D.J. Cannava, community leaders, Cuban activists, representatives from the INS, Elian's teachers and lawyers.
