Is The Bachelor turning into The Brady Bunch?
In a nod to this season's bachelor, single dad Jason Mesnick, the show will for the first time include single moms among its bachelorettes. Of the 25 contestants, four are reportedly single moms: Megan, Stacia, Stephanie and Treasure.
Mesnick, 32, has a 3-year-old son named Ty. His ex-wife Hilary reportedly broke his heart a few years ago, which eventually led him to ABC's The Bachelorette, where DeAnna Pappas broke his heart. Rough.
This season's crop of bachelorettes come from such far-flung locales as Brazil and Canada, along with a 23-year-old Casino Marketing Representative from Mesnick's hometown of Seattle. Another contestant is a wedding planner, which might come in handy since Mesnick is engaged.
The two-hour premiere of ABC's The Bachelor will air at 8 p.m. Jan. 5.
