Bachelor Conspiracy Theory Tarnishes Jason Mesnick's Good Guy Image
An obsessed blogger claims ABC concocted a scandalous Bachelor storyline to boost ratings.
Jason Mesnick stars in 'The Bachelor' -
ABC
The Internet has gone bonkers over a purported conspiracy theory surrounding this season of ABC's The Bachelor, which has drawn the franchise's best ratings since 2004. After courting an Italian prince, a doctor and an NFL player, a flagging Bachelor franchise is saved by ... a regular dude from Seattle -- who knew?
It's down to the final two bachelorettes -- frontrunner Melissa and cold fish Molly -- for Jason Mesnick, and ABC has been teasing viewers with previews from the most shocking "After The Final Rose" post-show this town has ever seen. Typical. But now, an online sleuth who calls himself Reality Steve has caused hyperventilating in Bachelor Nation by claiming he knows this season's "shocking twist" -- Jason proposes to Melissa, only to dump her for Molly. Scandalous!
But wait, there's more. According to Reality Steve, ABC planned all of this from day one, and Jason and Molly were in on it. Apparently, Melissa wasn't so lucky, and the poor thing will supposedly be dumped on national television by that cad, Jason Mesnick. Of course, last week he was still everyone's favorite regular guy/single dad who got dumped by DeAnna Pappas on The Bachelorette. Viewers haven't turned on a Bachelor this fast since Bob Guiney!
Likely this scandal will result in a ratings bonanza for ABC as The Bachelor airs its final few episodes on March 2 and 3. And then we'll all forget about Jason Mesnick in about ... 15 minutes. Most Popular Stories
