The Amazing Race continues to be an enjoyable trip in its fifteenth season, despite annoyances like too many legs that seem designed to keep everyone artificially close, racers that seem to get dumber and more Ugly American-y with each passing year, and the constant weird starting times in the fall created by NFL overruns. But legs like last week's, when a team was eliminated because one of its members literally refused to do what certainly looked like a simple enough task, make up for a lot of repetition and bickering couples.

This week (CBS, Sunday 8 p.m.), the remaining teams finally leave Asia and head for a frequent Race destination, the Netherlands. With half the original teams now gone, we ought to have enough data to guess on a winner. Meghan and Cheyne look like heavy favorites, and right behind (despite their recent problems) come literal Globetrotters Nathaniel and Herbert, who are the sorts of Alpha males who usually dominate whenever the show includes them. If Maria and Tiffany win, then you really need to put your affairs in order now, because the world will be ending in a few weeks.

Also this week:

Monday: Heroes (NBC, 8 p.m.): Sylar (Zachary Quinto) remains a major problem for Matt (Greg Grunberg), who tries a new method of removing him from the picture for good. Also, Claire and the BFF are harassed by their new sorority sisters. Saving the world just doesn't buy the respect it used to.

Tuesday: 2009 Scream Awards (Spike, 10 p.m.): Horror, science fiction, and comic book-based entertainment are feted in the fourth annual ceremony, taped in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago. Look for big showings from the Twilight and True Blood gangs, and Transformers stars like Megan Fox. George Romero of zombie fame receives the "Scream Mastermind" award.

Wednesday: America's Next Top Model (CW, 8 p.m.): Tyra Banks concocts an excuse to get the remainder of the season relocated to Hawaii. When you're as fabulous as she is, can't you just wave your arms and make it happen? Also, the models get surfing lessons in preparation for a photo shoot, and are made to look biracial.

Thursday: Real Housewives of Atlanta (Bravo, 10 p.m.): Why is it that people who see each other all the time need a "reunion show," anyway? (And yes, I know the real reason is because they can get another week of semi-scripted fights out of the season.) Smart money says the other four are all going to gang up on Kim, because they have to speak for the rest of us.

Friday: White Collar (USA, 10 p.m.): Monk isn't going to be around much longer, so USA has introduced this potential replacement, about a career criminal who is working towards his freedom by helping the good guys. This week, Neal (the criminal) and his FBI handler crash Fashion Week to prevent a thief from selling security data that is sewn into a model's dress.

Saturday: World Series (Fox, 7:30 p.m.): The third game of the Fall Classic (assuming no more weather interruptions) will feature the defending champion Philadelphia Phillies hosting the New York Yankees. America waits to see if the Yankees can finally put to rest their interminable nine years gap between championships. And if you sense sarcasm in the previous sentence, you are quite observant.
