In an extension of the Terminator feature film franchise set between the second and third movies, drama focuses on the woman battling the rise of the robots with her savior son. As they go on the offensive, trying to outmaneuver the ever-evolving futuristic technology that wants them dead, two others join their fight: a new Terminator protector in the form of a teenage girl and an FBI agent who starts off as a pursuer but ends up as their ally.
