Teresa Giudice: Confessions of a Shopaholic

For many of us, going on a shopping spree means dropping a couple hundred on accessories or a nice handbag.
But for Real Housewife of New Jersey Teresa Giudice, it means plopping down $8,800 on curtains and some $45,000 on wall hangings and other decorative home items — just days after filing for bankruptcy last year. She and husband Joe owe creditors $11 million dollars.
Her spendaholic ways were revealed Monday during a court hearing to try prevent an Aug. 22 auction that would liquidate the Giudice’s belongings to help pay down their debt.
“These were not Ikea-purchased furniture items,” said Judge Morris Stern, according to a New York Post report. “These were from high-end design stores.”
Right before filing for bankruptcy, the Post reports, the couple accrued $21,000 in furniture debt — $11,000 of which they paid off before saying they were broke.
After court, Teresa had no comment, but a temperamental, sweaty Joe spouted: “None of your business! Back off before I get pissed!”
The auction has been postponed until Oct. 3.
