Carolyn and Palek prepare for the possibility of pregnancy after her artificial insemination. Carolyn researches pregnancy and Palek deals with his issues with his father. Carolyn gets very upset after her pregnancy test comes back negative. Dave and Katie try to follow May's instructions to spend a half an hour a day without the kids. May and Arthur discuss John again. Jamie meets Nick, but they are both still having trouble getting over their exes.
