Taina

Set in Queens, New York, Taina Morales, a Puerto Rican teenage girl navigates two cultures -- those of her traditional, three-generation Latino household and those of school and the city outside. She lives with her father, a police investigator who also runs a car service; her mother, a teacher; a 7-year-old sister, and a recently widowed grandfather. Taina attends the Manhattan School of the Arts and wants to be a singer/dancer.
