What2Watch: Tracey Ullman Provides All-American Laughs

Showtime

Every few years, Tracey Ullman pops up with a new project, for which we should all be thankful. She's been around for quite a while now, long enough to have shared the honor of being the Fox network's first star with George C. Scott.

Her new five-episode series, Tracey Ullman's State of the Union (Showtime, Sunday 10 PM), was inspired by her new status as an American citizen. During these fast-paced half hours, Ullman inhabits the roles of "ordinary Americans" such as the wife of a man on death row and David Beckham (OK, some of the people she impersonates aren't all that ordinary). We can now officially call her a national treasure, and that makes up for America also being the home of Dina Lohan (another one of Ullman's targets).

NCAA Basketball (CBS): More regional semifinals tonight beginning at 7 PM, followed by the finals in the East and West regionals tomorrow starting at 6:30 PM, and the Midwest and Southeast regional finals Sunday starting at 2 PM.

Canterbury's Law (Fox, tonight 9 PM): Fox's law: If your ratings are too low on Monday nights, you get banished to Friday (which means the now dead The Return of Jezebel James must have really tanked). Tonight, prosecutor Williams comes after Elizabeth for her actions in defense of an accused child killer, and Molly prepares to try her first case.

Free Radio (VH1, tonight 9:30 PM): Season finale: Lance isn't happy that his birthday is overshadowed by the station's anniversary; Penn and Teller, Melora Hardin (The Office) and Ray Romano are the guests.

In Treatment (HBO, tonight 9:30): The doctor is out. In the season finale, Paul meets with Laura in an attempt to nail down the nature of their relationship. My guess is that without the regular visits to her therapist to keep her entranced with him, Laura has lost interest and moved on to a new obsession. Whatever happens, Paul will be able to analyze it better than I can.

Battlestar Galactica: Revealed and Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon (Sci Fi, tonight 10 PM and 10:30 PM): A recap of the first three seasons to whet your appetite for the fourth season, which starts next week, followed by a bunch of celebs who explain why you need to be watching it. You mean that Brad Paisley has more influence than 100 TV critics? Say it isn't so.

John Witherspoon: You Got to Coordinate (Showtime, tonight 11 PM): The veteran comic is quite the fashion plate.

Kids' Choice Awards (Nickelodeon, Saturday 8 PM): Jack Black hosts; Miley Cyrus and Shia LaBeouf are among those appearing.

The Double Life of Eleanor Kendall (Lifetime, Saturday 9 PM): Lana Parrilla stars as a woman who has her identity stolen, and finds that the culprit is someone on the run from an abusive ex-husband.

Torchwood (BBC America, Saturday 9 PM): An old movie theater reopens, seeming to lead to a plague of bodies in a state between life and death. Sounds like most of my Saturday night dates.

Mad TV (Fox, Saturday 11 PM): A parody of Juno, and Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey do their own video for Flo-Rida's "Low."

Rock of Love 3 (VH1, Sunday noon and 9 PM): Bret spirits Daisy, Destiney, Ambre, and Jessica to Las Vegas; one of the girls is called out for keeping secrets.

Big Brother 9 (CBS, Sunday 8 PM): Chelsia is gone, which lessens the drama. But Natalie is the new Head of Household, which should put the drama right back.

Everybody Hates Chris (CW, Sunday 8 PM): Chris accompanies Drew on a mission to meet Drew's idol, Wayne Gretzky.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC, Sunday 8 PM): Ty and the gang help a single mother living in Delaware who overcame homelessness.

The Simpsons (Fox, Sunday 8 PM): Lisa takes ballet lessons but becomes addicted to the dancers' secondhand smoke; Homer kills two birds with one stone by making his own beef jerky.

King of the Hill (Fox, Sunday 8:30 PM): Kahn is intimidated by his visiting father-in-law, prompting Hank to offer his version of male bonding.

Cold Case (CBS, Sunday 9 PM): The blood of a teenager missing for two years is found on the grounds of the school for the deaf that he attended. I hope Kathryn Morris ate something during the writers' strike; she was beginning to look way too wispy, like a blonde Lara Flynn Boyle.

John Adams (HBO, Sunday 9 PM): While still in Europe, Adams is reunited with Abigail and learns of the success of the revolution; he is appointed the first ambassador to England and meets George III.

Masterpiece (PBS, Sunday 9 PM): The Jane Austen blowout ends with a two-part production of Sense and Sensibility, about two sisters looking to marry up.

Oprah's Big Give (ABC, Sunday 9 PM): Danica Patrick takes time out from not winning races to send the givers on a road trip for charity.

The Game (CW, Sunday 9 PM): Malik is set up on a date with Serena Williams, who Tasha is hoping to sign as a client, but she proves to be a major pain; Kelly sets Melanie up with a celebrity.

The Tudors (Showtime, Sunday 9 PM): In the second season premiere, Henry deals with the consequences of his decision to declare himself head of the church in England; Anne wants Katherine out of the picture entirely; a bishop is the victim of a poisoning.

Unhitched (Fox, Sunday 9:30 PM): Season finale (that was fast): Gator hides his true self in order to get the attention of an animal rights activist; Tommy teaches Freddy to drive; Kate dates an exterminator.

Ax Men (History, Sunday 10 PM): Bad weather and the slump in homebuilding affect all crews, but some more than others.

Dirt (FX, Sunday 10 PM): Don becomes friendlier with Sharlee Cates; Willa and Farber develop their working relationship further. Ashley Johnson (Sharlee) is not even recognizable as the little sister who got tacked on the Growing Pains cast in the show's final year, which is actually a good thing.

Dumped (BBC America, Sunday 10 PM): This four-episode series about folks trying to live for three weeks off what they can salvage at a dump ends with the arrival of a new truck filled with everyone else's throwaways.

Here Come the Newlyweds (ABC, Sunday 10 PM): The parents of the final three couples come to visit; the husbands and their fathers-in-law team up to build soapbox racers.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians (E!, Sunday 10 PM): Kris tries out to be a cheerleader; Kendall learns about puberty from her sisters. Pray for Kendall.
