The Ultimate Fighter 7: May Day

Jeremy May finally fights. Did he survive the butt whipping he'd been asking for by his actions?

This episode of The Ultimate Fighter 7 began as the last one did. Jeremy May was showing his behind and aggravating his housemates. This guy was being edited to be the big villain of the show. I was beginning to worry that he'd win his fight and that we'd have to put up with him even longer.

Jeremy hurt his knee while sparring, though, and he slacked after that. He milked that injury for all he was worth. And he smirked about it. He so disrespected Matt Brown, his opponent, that he didn't show any concern about missing training. While his teammates worried about his knee and his conditioning, he secretly admitted to milking the injury so that he wouldn't burn himself out training.

Matt, on the other hand, was training like a fiend. Forrest says that if a guy is gonna beat up on his teammates in practice like Matt did, then the least he could do is to hurt somebody in his fight. He really looked impressive while training.

Unfortunately, he didn't look as impressive in the octagon. Jeremy dominated the fight early. His lack of conditioning did him in, though. He got gassed after his early assault and Matt got in a good knee to the head followed by a kick to the chin. Jeremy went down and the fight was over. Matt won by knock out. As happy as I was that Jeremy lost, I was disappointed in Matt's performance.

Forrest then announced the next fight. Luke Zachrich of Team Forrest was chosen to fight Dan Cramer of Team Rampage. Both these fighters have chips on their shoulders. Luke was smarting because he was chosen last and Dan felt like he was disrespected because he's a pretty boy that worked at a country club. Rampage, though, feels like Dan could be the sleeper of the show.

Speaking of Rampage, he was feeling very frustrated. He thought that Jeremy could have won that fight and remember last week he felt that his guy should have won. He went to Forrest to ask how he was picking the fights, since he was doing so well, and was told that the fights were picked by coin toss. Hearing that made him even more upset and frustrated.

Fight time! Unlike the first fight, both these guys come out strong. Lots of back and forth action and I can't decide who won the first round. They both looked just that good. Dan took over from the beginning of the second round and quickly took Luke down. Dan dominated and Luke was unable to fight back, so the fight was called. Dan won by TKO at the beginning of the second round. What a great fight. Both those fighters left it all out there.

Team Rampage finally won one! Finally having control, Rampage said that he was going to go out to celebrate and that people would think he was crazy because he was going to keep saying that he was in control. He was singing the words "In Control" to the tune of Janet Jackson's song "Control." He was dancing up a storm, and all-around it was quite funny.

Next week on The Ultimate Fighter 7, we'll see two more fights. There will also be some heat between Rampage and Forrest. Dana describes it as them going "Ken and Tito" on him. That's not cool to hear. The season with Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz as coaches was one of my least favorites because of the Ken and Tito show. I really hope it's not that bad. I'll be watching, though, to find out.
