Heroes Takes Us Round and Round in Circles
NBC
"Chapter Ten: Truth & Consequences": One more episode to go, and it feels like we're back where we started. Is it me, or have we been going around in circles for the last two and a half months? Creepy Company Bob brings Mrs. Bennett "Noah's" ashes, which Claire scatters in the ocean, apologizing for not trusting him. Later, she tells Veronica Mars that she, Claire, will go public with her powers, because now she's under the impression that this will keep her safe, when just a few episodes ago she was worried about being thrown into a Petrie dish. Noah wakes up in Company HQ to find Mohinder tending him. They argue about the same stuff they've been arguing about for a while now: The Company's evil! No it isn't! Mohinder uses Claire's blood to neutralize the virus, and he wants to destroy all the different strains of the virus. But before saving the world, he must save a single person, and heads to New Orleans with the cure for Nikki, where she has gone to save Micah from utter boredom. Remember his cousin, Mimic Girl? I'd totally forgotten her. When Micah's backpack gets stolen, she decides to play hero and get it back. It goes badly. Sylar is alternately wooing Maya and treating her like garbage. She falls for this dubious charm. Alejandro discovers that "Gabriel" is a murderer, but he's got a sob story about being a misunderstood mutant monster freak. Strangely, this endears Sylar to Maya even more: she thinks Gabriel understands her. Sylar twirls his moustache. Oh, and then he viciously murders Alejandro. Bastard! And then he smooches all over Maya with her brother's dead body cooling right behind them. Double bastard! Later, Sylar shows up at Matt and Mohinder's apartment in NYC and takes Molly hostage. Hiro decides to find Kensei and avenge his father, and almost instantly finds exactly the clue he needs to Kensei's 21st-century identity. Hiro jumps back to Primatech HQ -- The Company -- in 1977 to watch Adam being locked up for, the plan is, forever. Adam was going to release the virus to save the planet from mankind, or something. Turns out he is bad after all. Hiro vows to avenge the entire planet. Peter and Adam visit Victoria, the last woman in the photo of the original Heroes, to try to convince her to help them stop the release of the virus, which is supposed to happen the next day. She's not buying Peter's story about saving his Irish girlfriend in the future, and when discovers that Adam is with Peter (he'd been hiding), she blasts both of them in the chest with a shotgun at close range. But don't worry: they're fine in a few minutes. Peter uses his mind reading to get the location of the virus from Victoria, who tries to tell Peter that Adam is a bad guy, but Peter doesn't believe it. He starts to have some doubts, maybe, when Adam shoots Victoria in the back, but he misses Adam gloating over Victoria's dead body about his evil plan. They go to Primatech, where the virus is being kept. Time stops: Hiro has arrived, and is about to kill frozen Adam with the Kensei sword. Peter won't let Hiro do that, and prepares to blast Hiro with zap juice... Next week: Two Heroes are gonna die. Huh? I'm gonna go with -- eenie meenie miney moe -- Hiro and Mimic Girl, though I don't think she should count since she barely did anything all year. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-MaryAnn Johanson (email me)
