Celebrity Apprentice: January Is The New February

What happens when the egos of Ivanka Trump and Gene Simmons come together?

This week's Celebrity Apprentice began quite amusingly. After Omarosa and Carol returned from last week's boardroom, the cockroach-like Omarosa (per Gene Simmons) got into it with Piers. And I don't mean they were pillow fighting. Well, unless you have pillow fights with somebody that acts like a bitch and calls you an alcoholic.

After Stephen gave his mother the good news about the donation to her breast cancer foundation, it was time for Hydra and Empresario to learn about their new task. Donald, Ivanka, and Terry Lundgren told the teams that February is Pet Adoption Month. And then, after the awkward questioning by The Donald asking if Lennox liked pit bulls, the teams learned that they would be responsible for creating a 30-second TV ad for the Pedigree Adoption Drive.

Trump then asked both teams to choose their Project Managers immediately. Empresario (the ladies) chose Nely and Hydra (the guys) chose Gene. The PM of the winning team would receive $20,000 for their favorite charity. The teams headed off to their respective war rooms where whacko Nely proceeded to lead her team in meditation (Omarosa did not participate) before meeting with the Pedigree executive. Gene chose to not meet with the Pedigree executive and get straight to shooting their video.

Stephen, the video's director, came up with the plan of using Lennox in the video holding a cute little doggy with Trace doing the voiceover. When Ivanka entered the room to check on their status, Gene asked her if she'd be taking their plans to the other side (because they're women). She ignored the comment and asked what their concept was. Piers began to tell her about it, but then Gene interrupted him and told Ivanka that they have work to do. Ivanka didn't take kindly to being brushed off and accused of favoring one team over another and thought Gene was behaving rather rudely. I agree with you Ivanka!

Both teams were able to get their videos done without too many major issues. The biggest problems Hydra had were trying to clear a sidewalk in downtown NYC and an ambush on Gene and Stephen from the other guys on the team later on when they were trying to finish editing the video. Tito especially didn't like being left out of the loop on this. Empresario's problems were Nadia's lack of being able to finish tasks and a slobbering dog.

When it came time to present their videos to Pedigree and Donald, it went off without a snag. Pedigree loved both videos (even though Hydra had never even met with them concerning a concept). Even the doubting Tito loved his team's ad.

In the boardroom, Hydra was told by the guy from Pedigree that he felt slighted that they didn't go talk to him and that he thought Gene was abrasive (you don't say?). Ivanka agreed with the "abrasive" part and brought up what happened earlier between Gene and herself. Yes, this was the part where Donald asked Gene if he insulted his daughter. Then Omarosa butted in and told Gene that it was offensive of him to question Ivanka's integrity. Ivanka agreed with Omarosa and Gene realized he was on the losing end of this battle and promptly apologized.

After everybody in the boardroom watched both ads, Don asked the ladies why they didn't use any of their star power. Nely said they used Marilu's voice (yeah, come on Trump!). The Pedigree guy told Hydra that they should have used a caption in the ad that told the audience who Lennox was because not everybody would recognize him on sight alone. And the winner is (drum roll please) Team Hydra! Donald thought their use of Trace's voice in the ad was especially incredible (as did I). Their $20,000 would be going to the charity of Gene's choice -- the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Empresario will be losing yet another star tonight. After the ladies came back to quibble back and forth over who did what and answer the board's questions, Nely decided to bring Nadia and Carol back with her into the boardroom. Donald told her that Carol shouldn't be in there and that Marilu is the one that should have been brought back. He then told Carol she'd be safe (LOL!) so it was down to Nadia and Nely. In the end, Donald thought that Nely just had a bad day. Nadia, while a good leader of herself, would not have the ability to lead a team.

Nadia, you're fired!

While Nely wiped away her tears on the way back to the suite, Nadia politely told us in her black car interview that she believed she could have been a good asset for the team but was still happy that everything won on the show would be going to good charities.

Next week? The ladies are 0-2 and need a nurturing soul to guide them (meet Gene Simmons). When the guys need support they call on Stephen's big brother, Alec. All of this leads up to one of the most surprising boardrooms in Apprentice history. We could hear Donald say to somebody, "You're fantastic, you're a champion, but you're fired." And did you catch that quick glimpse of the Mad Money guy, Jim Cramer?

What did you think about this week's episode? Which team's video did you like the best? Do you think Nadia was the one that should have gone home? And who do you think will be fired next week? In case you missed last week's or this week's episode you can watch both of them Saturday evening back-to-back. It will even include the deleted scene from this week's episode that started the whole "thing" between Gene & Ivanka!
