Synopsis:
Clark opens up to Lana about his love for her and the truth about his abilities as well as proposing to her. Jonathan wins the senate race, which sends Lex into a drunken tailspin. When he calls Lana to share his misery he discovers the engagement ring and he lashes out. Lana flees and is killed in a car crash with Lex chasing her. Clark turns to Jor-El and he gives Clark another chance by turning the clock back a day, but with the caveat that if Lana lives someone else must take her place in the cosmic balance. Clark decides not to share his secret with Lana this time around which destroys their relationship and she dumps him. Lionel tries to blackmail Jonathan into doing his bidding by showing him the information he has on Clark and his family. Jonathan beats him up and ends up dying of a heart attack.
