Sela Ward Replaces Melina Kanakaredes On CSI: NY

Breaking news at CSI: NY: The lovely Sela Ward has been tapped to replace outgoing star Melina Kanakarades, who chose not to re-up on her contract.

Ward, a beloved TV vet from her days on Sisters and Once and Again, will play “an experienced investigator from Washington, D.C., whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim,” according to CBS.

The Emmy winner will make her first appearance on the show in the season seven premiere. CSI: NY will move to Fridays at 9 p.m. this fall on CBS.
