Secret Files of the Inquisition

Synopsis:  A look at a 500 year long reign of terror, that saw thousands of innocent men, women and children suffer persecution at the hands of the Vatican. In its quest to remain the world’s most powerful church, the Vatican created the Inquisition to attack its enemies and preserve the unquestioned authority of the Pope. The church subjected dissidents, renegades and their family members to secret courts, torture and punishment. The Catholic Church had kept records of the Inquisition in secret files, which remained hidden from the world for over 700 years. In 1998, the Vatican finally opened the sealed archives revealing the brutal details of the most notorious suppression in religious history.
