The male-dominated Saturday Night Live cast is adding two female members. It's about time! SNL has needed some new energy since Amy Poehler turned her considerable talents to raising her newborn son.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels has recruited Michaela Watkins and Abby Elliott to join the late-night shenanigans on Saturday nights. Elliott, 21, is the daughter of comic Chris Elliott, a former SNL member. Watkins cut her comedy chops at L.A's famed Groundlings comedy troupe, whose alumni includes Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell and Maya Rudolph.

Watkins and Elliott are expected to appear on this weekend's edition of SNL, hosted by Paul Rudd with musical guest Beyonce.

The question remains: Who will play Michelle Obama? SNL still does not have any black women in its cast. Michaels reportedly may add to the cast as the season continues.
