After weeks of speculation, it looks like Sarah Palin is indeed headed to Saturday Night Live on Oct. 25. New York Post gossip maven Cindy Adams calls it a "done deal" in today's column and reports that Palin is scheduled to rehearse on Friday, Oct. 24.

Rumor has it Palin will spoof Tina Fey's American Express commercials, but wouldn't we all like to see Palin poke fun at herself instead? There's a wealth of material for SNL's writers to work with: Beauty pageants, moose-hunting, teen pregnancy...

The Oct. 25 show will be hosted by Mad Men's Jon Hamm, who is sure to be overshadowed by the Palin hype. No word on whether Fey will appear on that episode, but fingers crossed.
