I have a confession. I have an appointment with my TV for the vice presidential debate Thursday night, but it's not just because I want to see Sarah Palin try to sell her expertise on foreign policy. I'm secretly more interested in seeing what Tina Fey has to work with when she (hopefully) spoofs Palin's performance come Saturday on SNL.
I have a girl crush on Tina Fey. How can anyone not love her? The woman is likeable even when she's playing a hicksville, gun-toting version of Palin on Saturday Night Live.
Fey told reporters at the Emmys that she wants to "be done playing this lady Nov. 5. So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me." But that would be bad for viewers, who are getting a kick out of seeing Fey back on the program that made her famous. I need my weekly dose of Tina until 30 Rock returns on NBC Oct. 30!
Speaking of, when are the millions who are watching the video of Tina Fey-as-Sarah Palin online going to start tuning in to the ratings-challenged but brilliant 30 Rock? A show can't survive on Emmys alone, people!
Fey's most recent SNL performance, spoofing Palin's interview with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric, was funny because it was so close to the truth. Alarmingly so.
Film.com's FREE movie of the week is "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror." This 1922 classic of cinema based on Bram Stoker's "Dracula" (but with names changed) directed by F.W. Murnau and starring Max Schrek in one of films most famous and frightening make-up jobs.
