Pamela Sitt

Pamela Sitt started writing about reality TV for The Seattle Times in 2003, when the genre really took off with Joe Millionaire. Since then, her taste in television has only gotten worse.

Rudy Huxtable Was Almost Played By Steve Urkel

That’s probably the most interesting nugget from Jaleel White’s revealing interview in the new Vanity Fair…which you probably aren’t going to read anyway.

That, and this quote:  ”I’m the highest-paid black kid in the history of television, just so you understand that.”

White starred as Steve “Did I do that?” Urkel in Family Matters, the long-running ABC sitcom that ran from 1987 to 1998. But before that, he apparently landed the role of precocious young Rudy on another hit sitcom, The Cosby Show. A last-minute audition by Keshia Knight Pulliam screwed that up, but White remains philosophical: ”All of these rejections resulted in me making a sh*tload of money elsewhere.”
