Roseanne Conner, a blue-collar working mother trying to cope with a tumultuous family, composed of her husband Dan and their three children: recently married Becky, college-bound Darlene, and son D.J. their youngest. Roseanne still worries about paying the bills at the end of the month, especially with her new business venture, a diner she opened with her sister, Jackie. Roseanne and Dan are also coping with a new member of the household -- Darlene's boyfriend David.
