Big shakeup at ABC! Reports are circulating that the network has cancelled sophomore series Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money.
Of course, you can't believe everything you read on the Internet -- last week, reports of the demise of NBC's Lipstick Jungle turned out to be premature.
Still, it appears that even a last-ditch effort by Katie Holmes couldn't save the ratings-challenged Eli Stone. Same goes for Lucy Liu's second-season addition to the Dirty Sexy Money cast. Liu is now 0 for 2 on ABC series; Cashmere Mafia got the ax during its freshman season earlier this year.
As for that critical darling Pushing Daisies, not enough viewers were into whimsy and pie, apparently. (Which raises the question: Who doesn't love pie? Especially with Thanksgiving around the corner.)
Meantime, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello is reporting that ABC's Private Practice will move into the post-Grey's Anatomy timeslot on Thursday nights starting Dec. 11. Scrubs will move from NBC to ABC on Jan. 6, where it will air Tuesdays.
