Project Runway’s fifth season is officially over, and Leanne took the top spot. While this season has been lackluster, contrived and downright annoying (Suede, Blayne and Kenley, that means you), the finale was actually fun to watch. All three collections were entertaining and well made, and it was the show 's first all female showdown. Let’s take a closer look at the designs that hit the final runway, starting with the winner.

Leanne
On consistency alone, Leanne’s collection took the prize. Though her color palette was minimal, primarily aqua and cream, it put the focus on her intricate design work and the unique architecture of her clothes. Her collection was the only one that was modern and innovative, she even incorporated sustainable fabrics, and her wedding dress was completely original, unlike a certain other finalist.

Kenley
Speaking of Kenley, her collection was not nearly as bad as her attitude. Her clothes did have a certain whimsical charm, but an Alice in Wonderland theme is not a particularly new spin, and the collection was a hodgepodge of color and silhouette. That’s not to say her pieces weren’t beautiful or well made (she even hand-painted her fabrics), the collection as a whole just didn’t quite come together. Oh, and once you disrespect Tim Gunn, you’re on my list.

Korto
Korto’s collection didn’t miss the mark, but it just wasn’t enough to inspire oohs and aahs. Her color palette was beautiful: bold but earthy, particularly the shades of green and gold. Some of the shorter dresses and gowns were very chic and beautifully tailored, but a few of her pieces were over-worked. Korto finished a strong second, but her collection didn't quite measure up to Leanne's.
