The Jon & Kate Plus 8 season premiere Monday night was titled, “Turning 5 and the Future,” but the future looks uncertain for the Gosselin family.

Jon and Kate, who have been tabloid fodder for weeks due to allegations of cheating on both sides, don’t appear on camera together until almost the end of the episode. Kate, meantime, speculates that her marriage may be coming to an end.

“I am thinking this possibly could be our last family picture together,” she says of a photo taken at her sextuplets’ fifth birthday party. “Parents of multiples have, like, triple the divorce rate, and I was thinking we were gonna beat that. I don’t know if I can say that anymore.”

In happier news, the fifth season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8 drew a whopping 9.8 million viewers, doubling the number of its season four finale.
