It must be a slow news day, because the latest controversy in the ongoing Jon & Kate Plus 8 saga involves … Kate’s hair.

Let’s be clear: The hair is awful. It’s short and spiky in the back and long in the front, kind of a reverse mullet. But does it deserve a place in the neverending media coverage of the Gosselins’ troubled marriage?

Kate Gosselin herself has fanned the flames of controversy by telling Entertainment Weekly that “everyone wants” her hairdo, but not everyone can have it. Really?

Celebrity hairstylists are now weighing in, criticizing the ‘do for being mismatched and age-inappropriate. (Kate is 34.) It’s time to put this to a vote.
