En route to return a laptop computer, Earl knocks down a bus stop sign, adds it to his list and promises that he'll be back to fix it the next day. When it turns out the laptop owner is a brainy and beautiful professor who takes a shine to Earl, he starts putting off the bus stop repair and karma enacts its vengeance.
