Synopsis:
Detective Superintendent Kate Beauchamp is caught at a prison when a violent riot breaks out. Hostages are taken and brutalized, and the man calling the shots is Red's former adversary, Pace Tierney. In the aftermath, the wounded and dying - both guards and prisoners - are moved to a nearby hospital. Red's team is charged with keeping the hospital secure when an unexpected danger appears - one by one, prisoners are found murdered. It's going to take everything his team has to stop the killings, but Red's distracted by problems at home, and Kate has yet to recover from the riot. In order to stem the body count, Red decides to put his own life on the line.
