Meloni Heading To True Blood?
Charlie Toft November 30, 2011

Christopher Meloni spent over a decade investigating various forms of bloodshed on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His next role may feature him causing bloodshed instead.
Michael Ausiello of TV Line reports that Meloni is in talks for a major role on Season Five of True Blood, which will be going back into production before long. The proposed role would have him playing a vampire of significance.
It would be unlike True Blood to cast someone who is very familiar from another television show, but this sounds like a great idea. Meloni might have played it ultra-serious on SVU, but he has an appreciation for cheese – witness his bizarre roles in the cult classic Wet Hot American Summer and in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. He also has a past history with HBO, as he played a charismatic bisexual serial killer on Oz, a show that was arguably even more unhinged than True Blood.
Meloni was also naked quite a bit on Oz, and nudity isn’t unheard of on True Blood. Just sayin’, people.
