The 100th episode of a TV show is a rite of passage many popular series are going through this season. We've already seen House and Desperate Housewives celebrate their 100th episode, and tonight brings the special 100th episode of Lost. In the month of May, fans will also see Grey's Anatomy, Numb3rs and The Office all turn 100. Typically shows go all out to honor the occasion with weddings, births, special guest stars, and big changes. Recent years have seen many very memorable 100th episodes, and here are five of the best: 5. Family Guy - "Stewie Kills Lois" Family Guy honored the occasion by delivering on a promise Stewie has been making since the premiere, to kill Lois. The matricidal baby went through with the plan, though in a shocking twist, it was revealed that she survived his attack. The second half showed the whole adventure to be a virtual reality experiment, but it was still big. 4. Scrubs - "My Way Home" In this breathtakingly beautiful 100th episode directed by star Zach Braff, J.D. and the doctors and nurses of Sacred Heart are transplanted into a Wizard of Oz world with oversaturated colors and hilarious references to the film, including an excellent a capella version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." 3. Gilmore Girls - "Wedding Bell Blues" There's no better way to celebrate a 100th episode than with a wedding, unless it's with manipulative family drama as well. While Richard and Emily renewed their wedding vows, Emily also conspired to break up Luke and Lorelai. The plan failed and fans will always remember the chilling final scene in which Lorelai tells her mother, "You and me, we're done." 2. Frasier - "The 1,000th Show" On Frasier's 100th episode, Frasier Crane celebrated his 1,000th radio show by getting his own day in Seattle. The episode was special because the actors actually went to Seattle to film around such memorable landmarks as Pike Place Market and the Space Needle. 1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - "The Gift" It was almost fate that the 100th episode would also be the season five finale and the final episode to air on the WB before moving to UPN. Even more fitting was that the episode ended with Buffy sacrificing her life to save the day. The episode properly honored the achievements of its heroine with the words on her tombstone: "She Saved the World. A Lot." Make your picks for who will go home on your favorite reality shows and compete against other fans with BuddyTV's Fantasy TV. Most Popular Stories
