Synopsis:
Three years ago, the Oceanic 6 are debating whether or not to lie to protect those left on the island. Hurley doesn't want to lie, but he is outvoted when Sayid sides with Jack. Hurley tells Sayid that he will remember that at the cost of his loyalty. Back in the future, Hurley is frantically driving away from the safe house with an unconscious Sayid in the passenger seat when he is pulled over by the police. The cop walks up to the window and it is Ana Lucia. She reprimands him about being safe and not getting caught, adding "Libby says hi." Suddenly she disappears. Hurley stops at a gas station to buy a new shirt. The checkout girl recognizes him as a lottery winner and one of the Oceanic 6, but luckily not from the news report as being a murder suspect. He leaves just as Kate pulls in. She considers calling Jack but does not, then gets a call from Sun asking her to meet. While sitting together, Kate tells her about the lawyers and Sun says she should just "take care of them." Sun explains that she knows Kate can make difficult decisions, after all, Kate made the decision to leave Jin and save herself. Sun says she forgives Kate. Back on the island, everyone is restless from not having their camp. While trying unsuccessfully to start a fire, they are besieged by flaming arrows from unknown assailants. Sawyer tells everyone to split up and meet at the creek. While on their way, Sawyer and Juliet are captured by a group of people they have never seen before. Just as they are about to cut off Juliet's hand, Locke saves them. In the future, Ben goes to a butcher shop to speak to a woman named Jill. He asks her to watch what is in his van. She knows what it is. Hurley arrives at his parents' house with a still-unconscious Sayid. He gets his Dad to lie to the cops for him and take Sayid to Jack for help. While Mr. Reyes is doing that, Hurley tells his mother the truth about what happened on the Island. His mother believes him. Later that night, Ben shows up, offering to take Hurley back to the Island so he never has to lie again. Hurley refuses to trust Ben, and runs outside to the cops and confesses to the murders, begging them to arrest him. Ben goes to a church and waits for someone. It is a woman who is writing formulas on a chalkboard and entering numbers into an old computer that reads, "Event Window Determined." She goes into the church where Ben is waiting and removes her hood. It is Ms. Hawking, who once told Desmond about his time traveling. She tells Ben that he only has 70 hours to get everyone back to the island.
