Lost: Stranger in a Strange Land

Sawyer and Kate, with Karl in tow, argue about what their next move should be as they row the boat. Sawyer wants to rest before heading to the main island, but Kate wants to get back to the main island as soon as possible so they can get help and go back for Jack. While setting up camp for the night, Sawyer has a talk with Karl about Alex and tells him he should go back for her. Kate is upset that Sawyer let Karl go, but Sawyer says she's just angry because she feels guilty about sleeping with him. In flashbacks we see Jack in Thailand spending romantic time with a mysterious Thai woman named Achara who claims she has a secret "gift." Eventually, Jack becomes curious and follows her into what appears to be a private tattoo parlor. She says she is not a tattoo artist, that her gift is her ability is to see who people are, and the tattoo defines and marks her customers with her vision. She says she is not allowed to use her gift on an outsider, but he insists. The next day, Jack is approached by a group of Thai men who see his new tattoo, beat him, and tell him to leave the country. Back on the Hydra island, Tom takes Jack out of his aquarium and brings him to Sawyer's old cage. Jack sees Juliet being put in the aquarium by a woman named Isabel, who they call The Sheriff. Tom tells Jack that Juliet is in trouble. Later, Juliet is escorted to Jack's cage to ask him to help Ben, whose stitches have become infected. He refuses. Isabel brings Jack into a room with Tom and Juliet and asks him if Juliet asked Jack to kill Ben. Jack denies it. When he wakes up in the morning he finds a group of people watching him, including Cindy, the flight attendant, and Emma, the little girl from the tail section. He yells at them to go. Alex arrives at his cage and tells him that the reason Juliet is in trouble is because she killed Danny to help Sawyer and Kate escape. Upon hearing this, Jack rushes to Ben. He says he will help Ben if Ben will let Juliet go. She is saved from the death sentenced, but is "marked" by a brand on her back. She, Jack, and Ben are taken on a boat headed to where Ben calls "home." Isabel tells Jack that his tattoo says "he walks amongst us, but he is not one of us" in Chinese. Jack tells her, "That's what it says. That's not what it means."
