Lost: The Man Behind the Curtain

We flashback to see that Ben was not, in fact, born on the island. His mother died while giving birth to him near Portland. He came to the island as a young boy with his father, who had been offered a job with the Dharma Initiative. While there, his father is unhappy to be made a janitor, while Ben begins having visions of his mother. Ben also makes a friend named Annie. Ben goes into the jungle to try and find his mother, but runs into Richard Alpert, who appears to be the same age as he is back in the present. Ben says that he wants to go with him, and Richard says that he will have to be patient. Years later, Ben gasses his father to death, and most of the Dharma Initiative are killed off by a gassing as well. Ben goes to see Richard. Back in the present, Locke brings his dead father's body to Ben, and insists that Ben take him to Jacob. Mikhail arrives and tells Ben about Naomi, the parachuter. Alex arrives and gives Locke a gun. Ben takes Locke to a small cottage. They go in, and Ben begins speaking to someone but no one is there. Frustrated, Locke starts to leave when he hears someone whisper, ‘help me.’ He turns around and turns on his flashlight when suddenly things fly off walls and a gas lamp gets knocked over and stuff catches fire. Locke runs out of the house, and Ben comes out afterwards. Locke asks what was that, and Ben replies that it was Jacob. They walk back through the jungle, and Ben asks what Jacob said to Locke. Locke, thinking that it was a "show" put on by Ben, won't tell him. Ben admits that he has told some lies but wants to show him something. He takes Locke to a pit where all the dead bodies of Dharma workers are. Ben says that he was one of the people smart enough to make sure he didn’t end up in that ditch, and that makes him considerably smarter than John. John swings around, and is shot by Ben. He falls into the ditch, and Ben asks him what Jacob says to him. John replies, ‘help me.’ Meanwhile, on the beach, Sawyer tells Kate and everyone about Juliet being a trader, and about Naomi's crash. Juliet and Jack arrive to hear them all talking. Juliet tells Sawyer to turn the tape around and play it, and he does. We hear Ben saying that he will come with the others to take the pregnant women. If she finds that anyone else is pregnant, she should mark their tents so that they can take them too. Jack says that he knew about this already, he just didn’t tell anyone because he hadn’t decided what to do about it...yet.
