Synopsis:
Desmond has a string of visions that appear to lead him to Penny. He sees someone fall from the sky, and then be rescued by him. Desmond realizes that he must make this chain of events happen if he wants to see her. Unfortunately, the visions include Charlie being killed by an arrow through the neck. Quickly, he gathers Charlie, Hurley, and Sun, who were present in the vision, and tries to make sure everything goes off just as he saw it. We flashback to Desmond's past, when he tried to hide the shame of being a runaway groom at the local monastery. The day after he was fired as a monk, he met Penny. Back in the present, he eventually rescues Charlie from the arrow, but still sees a helicopter crash and finds the parachuter, who he is certain is Penny. He lifts off the jumper's helmet to discover it is not Penny, but an unknown woman who knows his name. Meanwhile, after Kate realizes that Jack has switched his affections over to Juliet, she seduces Sawyer.
