Turns out you can't believe everything you read on the Internet. Brooke Shields is refuting online reports that her NBC drama Lipstick Jungle has been cancelled.

"It's not true," she told reporters on Sunday at an event in New York City. "Our bosses are saying, 'You're not cancelled, don’t worry. We’re just trying to figure out how to make this make sense.'"

The female-driven series, based on the book by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell, also stars 24's Kim Raver and Beverly Hills, 90210's Lindsay Price.

In the grand tradition of cult audiences, Lipstick fans have reportedly been sending tubes of lipstick to NBC in protest of the rumored cancellation. Hey, it worked for Jericho. Kind of.
