Fox is losing a longtime anchor of its animated Sunday night lineup. King of the Hill, which is second only to The Simpsons in animated primetime longevity, has been cancelled after next season. The final episodes are expected to air in 2010.

King of the Hill premiered in 1997. Its creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are responsible for such brilliant oddities as Beavis and Butthead, Office Space and the American version of The Office.

Famous voices contributing to the show include Kathy Najimy, Brittany Murphy, Tom Petty, Johnny Hardwick and Stephen Root. Some have pointed out Mrs. Hill's resemblance to VP hopeful Sarah Palin.
