Synopsis:
A kindred of vampires living in present-day San Francisco is ruled by a prince who wants the various clans to make peace and assimilate into everyday life. Julian Luna is the rich and powerful Prince of the City, who rules the clans and struggles to keep peace among them. Julian appears to be a charismatic business leader, but San Francisco homicide detective Frank Kohanek soon discovers his true identity as a Kindred and is determined to bring him down. The clans, each with a different agenda, are as follows: the Torreadors (artists and lovers of creativity) led by Lillie, who has an on-again, off-again affair with Julian; the Ventrue (blue-blooded aristocracy) of which Julian is a member; the Nosferatu (subterranean and savage, the oldest clan) headed by Daedalus, who functions as Julian's enforcer; the Gangrels (hot-headed, fiercely independent rockers and bikers) led by Cash, Julian's newly appointed bodyguard, and the Brujah, who are mobsters breaking both human and kindred laws.
