Kelsey Grammer Signs On For ABC Comedy Pilot

After a failed return to sitcom-land, Kelsey Grammer has signed on for a new ABC pilot.

The erstwhile Frasier will team up with writer Tucker Crawley, whose credits include Everybody Loves Raymond and the new Amy Poehler project on NBC.

Grammer will reportedly star as a corporate tycoon who gets demoted from his powerful job and must readjust to being a family man. It’s a story audiences should be able to relate to, given the current economy — if the show ever makes it to air.

Grammer most recently starred in Fox’s cancelled Back to You alongside Patricia Heaton, who is also starring in a comedy pilot at ABC, The Middle.
