Maya Gallo, an out-of-work newswriter, reluctantly takes a job on the staff of her estranged father's fashion magazine, "Blush." During their reconciliation, she discovers that her father's third wife, one of her former high school classmates, is having a baby. At the office, Maya struggles to hold her own with her new co-workers who include: Nina Van Horn, a pretentious ex-model who is the beauty and fashion editor; in-house fashion photographer and womanizer, Elliott DiMauro; and her father's power-crazy right-hand man, Dennis Finch. Helping Maya keep her perspective at home is her calm, supportive roommate Wally.
