A new promo on TLC has Jon & Kate Plus 8 followers atwitter:
"Jon and Kate Gosselin have an announcement."
Ominous?
The words appear on screen in a new TLC promo for a one-hour Jon & Kate Plus Eight "special episode," airing Monday (9 p.m. ET).
The promo continues with Kate Gosselin saying, "Recently, we’ve made some life-changing decisions -- decisions that will affect every member of our family, ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace."
Not to be outdone, E! News is runnings its own special, Jon & Kate: Separate Lives, airing tonight (and forevermore in reruns, no doubt).
Jon and Kate have been besieged with tabloid reports over the state of their troubled marriage for months. The couple spent their 10th wedding anniversary last week apart. But will they officially split? The TLC reality show has become the couple's livelihood as they support their eight children.
Then again, it could be just a ratings ploy by the network, which has seen ratings for Jon & Kate plummet since its May 25 premiere.
