Joe Rogan To Return As Fear Factor Host

The planned NBC update of its early 2000s reality hit Fear Factor will feature a familiar face amidst the dead worm challenges: Joe Rogan will be back as host.
TV Guide is reporting that the actor/comedian has agreed to return to the series, not surprising given that the duties are fairly light and given that his profile has dropped noticeably in the five years since Fear Factor was cancelled (Rogan first came to prominence on the NBC sitcom NewsRadio in the 1990s). “The idea of sitting at home and watching someone else host it would have driven me crazy,” said Rogan, who added that his dual backgrounds in comedy and athletics makes him the ideal for the job.
The story contained extra detail from Fear Factor executive producer Matt Kunitz regarding his plans for the revival. The revamped show will be shot in high definition and make use of social media, he says. And Fear Factor producers will take advantage of innovations in the stunt world: “Technically stunts now are so much better at what we can do – much bigger falls, much faster falls. Bigger explosions, faster car stunts, bigger flips. We want to take it to the next level,” says Kunitz. It’s all fun till someone gets hurt!
